40K downloads. 1M+ view videos, that’s not a coincidence.
There’s a playbook here that more teams should pay attention to. This learning app (Sapio), built by six founders, is still early, around 9 months in, ~40K downloads. But look at how they’re approaching distribution. One video pulls 702K views with “we just started the challenge of our lives, we’re not ready.” Another crosses 1M views with a hook about rebuilding human knowledge into an app (see photo)
They’re not waiting for traction to tell a story, they’re using story to create traction
Instead of hiding behind the product, the founders are the content. Multiple accounts, all run by the team, showing the process, the chaos, the ambition. It feels raw, almost like you’re following a series, not a company.
And that’s what makes it work
Because people don’t just discover the app, they get invested in the journey. The views aren’t random, they’re earned through narrative. And that narrative compounds over time
This is a much smarter way to build early distribution. You don’t need massive budgets or big creators, you just need a format that people want to follow
